History and foundation
The Urbitarte cider maker, far from the traditional cider making route, was founded in 1991 in Ataun. Located in the Erogiena neighbourhood, it receives many visitors from neighbouring Navarre to which it is directly connected. It is in a mountainous enclave, and facing the vicissitudes of winter it stays open until the end of the spring, so that the visitors can take advantage of the good weather. It currently produces nearly 150,000 litres of cider per year.
