History and foundation
Although the Astarbe cider maker has only existed since 1963, the current generation is the fourth dedicated to this activity. Situated in a historic farmhouse built in 1622, nowadays, conserving the appearance of the original farmhouse, it has created a totally and new and modern for cider tasting in the cider season. It has an apple orchard that supplies them with 25% of apples, complemented with apples from different origins: Orio, Aia, Usurbil and Astigarraga. It currently produces around 100,000 litres of cider per year.
