History and foundation

The Irigoien cider maker was a historic survivor of the decadence in cider production, thanks to its well-known supplementary activity as a blacksmith. This supplementary activity finished in 1980, when the Irigoien cider maker exclusively devoted itself to cider production. The cider maker, to answer the demand for cider and the adaptation of its installations, had to move its installations from the neighbourhood of Ergobia in Astigarraga to its new location in Iparralde bidea 12 in Astigarraga in 2003. It currently produces around 150,000 litres of cider a year.
