Begiristain
History and foundation
The Begiristain cider maker has been making cider for 90 years in its farmhouse as a secondary activity to stockbreeding and agriculture. Since then and up to our times, there have been big changes, above all in regarding the installations, as in recent years, and above all, since 1990 they have modernised their installations. Their own apple plantations cover 30% of cider needs, supplementing the production with apples from nearby farmhouses and imported apples in the years when there are shortages. They produce around 100,000 litres of cider per year.
